App and list locks
Set and open screen locks, use biometric unlock on a phone, and know what a forgotten lock password means.
App and list locks put a second gate over content on a signed-in device. They are Plus features. Your account encryption still protects what is synced; the lock controls what someone can see while the app is open.
Set a lock
Open Settings → Misc to set or remove the app lock. Open Settings → Lists and use a list’s ⋯ menu to lock that list. A list lock can also hide its name from the sidebar. Use Lock app in the menu above your links, or Lock now beside a list, when you want to close it immediately.
The iPhone and Android apps can use Face ID, Touch ID, or the device’s biometric unlock where available. The web app uses the lock password. A list’s contents stay out of browse, search, and export while it is locked; unlock it before making a complete export.
There is no recovery code for a forgotten lock password. Signing out clears local locks; sign back in with your account password or recovery code. Sign-out also clears this device’s local data, so let changes sync first. A lock password is separate from your account password and doesn’t replace it.
